Master Tailor · Founder & Owner
Mo Rabiu grew up around textiles in Lagos, Nigeria. Her mother designed fabric, trained by a Swiss textile maker, and sold bold, intricate work in a busy Nigerian marketplace. Mo spent years in London, came to the United States to study at SUNY Plattsburgh, and worked more than a decade in finance before returning to the craft she was raised in.
In 2021 she bought European Tailoring & Alterations on North Pearl Street in downtown Albany and built it into one of the Capital Region's premier destinations for bespoke suits, couture gowns, and custom tailoring.
Her clients include politicians, celebrities, athletes, music moguls, and community leaders, along with brides commissioning custom gowns. She designed the inauguration suit for Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs, a cream bespoke piece with a hand-detailed tulip motif that drew national coverage.
Her collections have shown at Paris, New York, and London Fashion Weeks, and her work has been featured on PBS's AHA! A House for Arts and WAMC Northeast Public Radio.
Mo is a member of the Custom Tailors & Designers Association. She believes the clothes you wear reveal who you are, and she builds every garment to that standard.

★★★★★"Mo tailored my wedding dress. Not only did she deliver every request I made with precision, she was friendly and professional throughout my fitting, and she made sure I got my dress on time. Thank you, Mo!"
★★★★★"Have been looking for a tailor that can alter suit for a while now, then I found Mo. Where do I begin? Her work was impeccable. Plus she understands suits etiquette. Not every tailor knows how your suits should fit."
★★★★★"After a few bad experiences with other local tailors I had almost given up. Mo is extremely knowledgeable with a great sense of style. Items were finished on time and the fit is great. A+"
Pricing depends entirely on the garment and the work it needs. A simple hem is very different from taking in a jacket or building a custom piece. We assess every item in person and give you a clear price before any work begins, so there are never surprises. Book a visit online or bring the garment by, and we'll walk through your options together.
We're open Monday through Friday, 9 AM-5 PM. You're welcome to stop in any time during business hours to drop off a garment or get a quote. Fittings and alterations are handled by appointment on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Book online and we'll find a time that fits your schedule.
It depends on the garment and the amount of work involved. Most standard alterations are ready within about one to two weeks, while custom pieces and heavier reconstruction take longer. During busy seasons such as prom, wedding, and the holidays, we recommend coming in early. If you're working toward a deadline, ask about rush service; we can often accommodate it.
Bring the garment along with the shoes and undergarments you'll actually wear with it. A hemline or a waist can only be set correctly when everything is accounted for. For custom work or a restyle, photos or examples of the look you have in mind are always helpful.
Often, yes. We understand that life happens: a dress that doesn't fit days before an event, a last-minute interview suit. Book a slot online to check availability and we'll do everything we can to meet your timeline.
